On August 28, 2026, the Manitoba government announced more than $100 million in tariff-related supports. The package includes $13.7 million to establish a Tariff Workforce Stabilization and Youth Employment Program.

Recent changes to Ontario's procurement policies reflect that approach. Under Ontario's Buy Ontario Procurement Directive, many public sector organizations are now required to restrict participation by certain U.S. businesses in new procurements, subject to defined exceptions.
